This I Believe

I believe that the quality of men has gone downhill very much. The word "chivalry" has been lost and seen as something ancient that does not apply anymore. The term "gentleman" has been seen as someone who is a sissy and gentle to the point of flamboyance. I heavily disagree with these statements. I believe that men need these things that are seen as outdated, such as honor, respect, self-control, and all that jazz. The main thing that these "beliefs" imply that most men (if they should be called that) don't agree with (consciously or subconsciously) is the idea of respect towards women. I can rant about how men should respect women and all the different ways and all in another post some time but all I have to say for right now is that men don't respect women as much as they should (also, another thing I have to say to the ladies out there is that sometimes its not always the man's fault for being rude to you, it might be your fault sometimes, sometimes...). Anyways, another thing that comes along with chivalry is fraternity, I mean the good kind, not the kind with all the Greek symbols in the names to seem cool and the men that row crew and wear tight shirts, thats the bad kind. By fraternity, I mean a sort of brotherhood, companionship, or friendship of loyalty and respect that can help you be a better person. Alright, I know I've been bouncing around a lot with this post and I'm not the best writer but just stick with me, we're almost done. One of the last things I want to say is that the goal in a person of the male gender's life is to become a Man. To become the best we can. I personally am not the best example and I'm still a like level 2 or 3 "noob" (out of about, hmmm 20 levels? [just made this up]) but I try to try my best at trying to be the best Man I can possibly be (wow, that was a lot of try's). Also, one of my goals in restoring chivalry to the men of the world is to destroy the show called the Jersey Shore, one of the worst (excuse my french please) pieces of crap I've ever seen, It's literally a drain on chivalry. Last but not least, the photo I uploaded in this post. This photo is a a true Man in his natural habitat, enough said. Sorry you had to read this whole rant. Goodbye. ~Stephen Michael Worley

  1. I agree that men don't respect women as much as they have. But history isn't so kind to the ladies. Women insisted in the 60's that men stop respecting them. they wanted to be equal and felt that when men showed respect through opening doors, etc, then they were being degraded. there are many other factors, but you can make the case that women killed chivalry. now, i would say that men sat by while women did this. anyways, today, it's easy to get your cheap sex from women, and the sexual exploitation of women has not and will not ever end. It now takes a very big man who isn't just using his own willpower to overcome his desires. and it takes a really unique woman to appreciate a man like that. i would say it's hardest for boys who are becoming men. because, they don't have many examples (well, tebow i guess), and they don't have a woman like a husband does to help him do things the right way
